Garnett Farmers Market Starts Up 5th Season

Looking for locally grown vegetables, meat, poultry and such? You’ll find it at the Garnett Farmers Market beginning May 3rd.

THIS ISN’T JUST ANY FARMERS MARKET!  You’ll find this unique and appealing social atmosphere, and the combination of special events bringing you back to the Garnett Farmers Market over and over again.  From the annual salsa and chili contests, to the chef demonstrations and children’s activities, there is something for everyone.

The market is open from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. every Thursday evening from May 3 through October 11.  The eclectic mix of food, flowers, freshly baked breads and desserts, craft items and home remedies make browsing at minimum a must.

The children enjoy a petting zoo, chalk art and pony or wagon rides offered during the Garnett Farmers Market. Complimenting the farmer’s market are food vendors where dinner can be purchased and outdoor picnic facilities are made available.

Typical inventory at the Garnett Farmers Market includes eggs, chicken, elk meat in many varieties of cuts, sausage, jerky, etc., locally harvested honey, blueberries, breads-white, wheat, Italian, rolls, cookies, and pies of every flavor; local corn, watermelon, cantaloupe, strawberries, peaches, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, radishes, carrots, rhubarb, asparagus, walnuts, sweet potatoes, potatoes, jams and jellies, decorative and ergonomically correct pillows, potholders, potato sacks, note cards, photographed postcards, and much, much more.
